I believe in a loving God, that he’s the Creator of all things, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He has shown himself to us in creation, history, in the person of Jesus Christ, and through the lives of his people when they are behaving like Jesus.
I believe that his people mess up a lot in how we treat others and often don’t behave like Jesus. This makes Christians look like bums. I have made Christians look like bums before. I am SO not proud of this.
I believe that God created me, unique and special, and that he loves me dearly, no matter how much I mess up. I believe he saved me from my selfish heart that day in my dorm room at NNU. That was the day my life changed forever. I left the Darkness and stepped into the Light. I still mess up sometimes, because I’m human, but now I’m not alone and I’m forgiven.
I believe that God created you, unique and special, and that he loves you dearly, no matter how much you mess up. I believe he gave you a choice whether to seek him out or go your own way. I believe if you seek him with all your heart, you will find him, and your life will change forever. You will no longer be lost, alone, or without purpose on this planet. You can leave the Darkness behind and step into the Light. You’ll still mess up sometimes, because you’re human, but you’ll never be alone again and he’s faithful to forgive you when you ask.
I believe that each human life is a gift from God. I believe we are all on a journey, that God has a plan for each and every life, and that discovering our God-given purpose can bring joy and contentment like nothing else.
I believe that the bible is true, 100%, and is God’s message to his people. I believe he gave it to us as his instruction manual for how to do life on earth.
I believe that our earth and the people on it are broken. I believe that there is a spiritual war going on around us for each and every soul. I believe that Jesus will return to judge all people and establish his eternal kingdom, a new earth, not just eternity of sitting on clouds or walking streets of gold, but an eternal life on a planet like earth, only perfect.
I believe one must have a relationship with Jesus to get to that eternal paradise, and that the only way to build that relationship is to ask Jesus for that salvation.
I believe that all Christians are on the same team—despite denominational doctrine. I believe we should work together in love and not against one another, arguing over things that God will show us someday.
And that’s what I believe.
