III. Sample book proposals
I’m a visual learner. I did tons of research on book proposals, but until I saw a real one, I felt clueless about how to create my own. There are three sources for book proposals that have helped me.
1. Randy Ingermanson has generously provided one of the best book proposals I’ve seen. I used his format for my first book proposal and was told by two agents that I did a great job on it. Check this out!
2. Alive Communications, the literary agency I spoke about in my last post, has links to sample book proposals. Check out on the right hand side of the webpage where they have sample fiction and nonfiction proposals listed.
3. Mary DeMuth’s Write a Powerful Fiction Proposal is an in-depth ebook on the subject. I highly recommend it!
